The island, popular for its blue sea and white sand beaches, attracts 60,000 visitors annually.

Directions from Naha Airport and Watakuchi Port
Mizuna Island is a remote island located in Motobu-cho, central Okinawa Island.
From Naha Airport, first go to Watakuchi Port in Motobu Town and take a boat to Mizuna Island.
It is about 100 km from Naha Airport to Watakuchi Port, which can be reached by rental car or other vehicle, or by local bus.
Although 100 km is not close, it is easily accessible because the Okinawa Expressway, which opened in conjunction with the Okinawa Ocean Expo held in 1975, connects to Motobu Town.
By car, from Naha Airport, take the Tomigusuku/Nakachi IC or the Nishihara IC to the Okinawa Expressway.
After about an hour and a half or 90 km on the Okinawa Expressway, you will reach the final stop at the Xuda Interchange, where you will exit onto a public road.
A 30-minute drive north along the coast on the prefectural road along the coast will take you to Watakuchi Port, where regular boats depart.
The motorway goes to the end of the road, and the public road is a beautiful seaside drive, so you won't feel too stressed.
Outside of the car, you can take a local bus to Watakuchi Port.
By bus, it takes about 2 hours from Naha Airport.
Take the Yanbaru Express Bus, and the nearest bus stop to Watakuchi Port is Motobu Museum-mae.
There are no advance reservations for this bus, so passengers board the bus in the order in which they line up at bus stop #2 at Naha Airport.
Once you arrive at Watakuchi Port, take a regular boat to Mizuna Island.
Some tour participants meet the staff at Watakuchi Port.
The ship is called "New Wing Minna II," a high-speed boat, which is also the local people's way of life.
No advance reservations can be made, so as with the buses, you will board in the order in which you line up.
The liner takes 15 minutes and runs eight times a day during the busy summer season.
During the busy summer season, for example, it may not be possible to board the bus because it is full, so plan well in advance to allow plenty of time.

It's sure to be a lot of fun!
Barbecuing starts with building a fire, so it's a lot of fun even before you start grilling.
Another appeal of barbecue is that it can be enjoyed with all five senses, from the sound of food being cooked over an open fire to the sound of meat fat dripping onto the fire.
If everyone eats together, it is sure to be a great success.
Enjoyable for both children and adults.
Barbecues are a fun way for everyone to eat together.
Adults and children alike can roast marshmallows on their own, participating not only in eating but also in roasting.
For children, barbecues are fun events.
Camping is another event that will excite not only children but adults as well, as they will spend the night in an unusual environment.
It might be a good idea to talk about various topics with family members until they fall asleep.
You can feel the gratitude of nature.
Barbecue, where you can enjoy the flavors of the ingredients, is a way to appreciate nature on its own.
Camping is living outdoors, spending time in a tent.
With camping, you can feel yourself in the midst of nature as the sun rises over the ocean, as the sun sets in the west, and as the sky is filled with countless stars.
What to Expect When Camping on the Beach
The first point to note is that a freestanding tent is preferable.
On the beach, the wind blows strongly from the ocean.
Because of the sandy terrain, non-self-supporting tents are at risk of falling over due to lack of stabilization.
Also, when using tarps, etc., we recommend that the pegs be 30 cm long.
The second point to note is trash.
It is always good manners to take trash and charcoal from campfires home with you so that you can always use it pleasantly.
Some beaches restrict the use of bonfires, charcoal, and generators.
Lodging in tents
Since most travelers on Mizuna Island make day trips, the beach is like a private beach after the last scheduled flight to Watakuchi Port leaves.
Mizuna Island has small villages and stores, but there are no beach barbecue sets or tents available for rent, so bring your own.
Also, there seems to be less driftwood on the western side of Okinawa.
Please note that driftwood is often wet and may not be usable for bonfires.
In addition, it is a general rule that barbecues, etc. should not contaminate the sand.
Manners are important when staying in tents.
Be sure to follow the rules and dispose of your trash properly.
