What is Ishigaki Island like? Can I go there from Mizuna Island? Thorough comparison of Mizuna Island and Ishigaki Island

水納島わくわくボートシュノーケリング&日帰り海水浴

Introducing the attractions and sights of Ishigaki Island and Mizuna Island.

Along with the main island of Okinawa, where Naha City is located, sightseeing on the remote islands is one of the most popular forms of travel in Okinawa Prefecture.

One such island that is often named as one of the major remote islands in Okinawa is Ishigaki Island, located far southwest of the main island of Okinawa.

It is loved by many people as one of the best resort islands, and also plays an important role as the center of the Yaeyama Islands.

Along with Ishigaki Island, which is one of the larger islands, I would like to introduce another island, Mizuna Island.

This remote island is only 1 km west of the main island of Okinawa and less than 0.5 square kilometers in size, making it a contrasting environment to Ishigaki Island.

Let's take a look at the characteristics of each of these two islands, which are essential when discussing the remote islands of Okinawa Prefecture!

Distance between Ishigaki Island and Mizuna Island

The Yaeyama Islands, of which Ishigaki Island is a part, are located far from the main island of Okinawa.

Ishigaki Island, which serves as the gateway to the islands, is separated from the main island of Okinawa by a 410-km long ocean.

Can you tell how far away it is from Tokyo, because the land 400 km away from Tokyo in a straight line is in the vicinity of Kobe.

Mizuna Island, on the other hand, as described above, is only about 1 km across the ocean from the main island of Okinawa.

The distance between Ishigaki Island and the main island of Okinawa is almost the same as that of the main island of Okinawa, and even though they are in the same prefecture, they are quite far from each other.

Access from Mizuna Island to Ishigaki Island

As can be seen from the fact that each is a remote island and also very far away, it would be a big hassle to travel from Mizuna Island to Ishigaki Island if one were to try to get to Ishigaki Island.

The rough route would be to take a boat from Mizuna Island to the main island of Okinawa, transfer from the port to the airport, and then fly to Ishigaki Island.

It is a long trip, and since it takes a considerable amount of time to get from Watakuchi Port, where the boat from Mizuna Island arrives, to Naha Airport, the trip may not be completed in a day, depending on the time of year.

It may not be advisable to think about combining sightseeing to Mizuna Island and Ishigaki Island in the same itinerary.

What is Ishigaki Island like?

Ishigaki Island, the center of the Yaeyama Islands consisting of a group of 32 outlying islands, has a different climate and culture from the main island of Okinawa.

As a tourist destination, it is the most popular of the remote islands in Okinawa Prefecture, excluding the main island of Okinawa, and is characterized by the coexistence of nature as it is in a large area and a resort environment that has been artificially prepared.

The land is also in very high demand as a quite high-class tourist destination, as there are many luxury resort hotels.

The island is also a base for travel to the islands scattered throughout the Yaeyama archipelago, and boats are available from Ishigaki Port's remote island terminal to take visitors to the outlying islands.

People living on the outlying islands also often visit Ishigaki Island when making large purchases, making it the core of the Yaeyama Islands in both name and reality.

How to get to Ishigaki Island

The Yaeyama Islands, where Ishigaki Island is located, also include Yonaguni Island, the westernmost island in Japan, which is far from the mainland and even the main island of Okinawa, and can only be reached by air.

Getting there itself is not difficult, as there are direct flights to Ishigaki Airport from airports in large metropolitan areas throughout Japan.

Also, if you are going to Ishigaki Island from an airport that does not have a direct flight, you should travel once to Naha.

By transferring to a flight to Ishigaki Island via Naha Airport, you can travel to Ishigaki Island without any problems.

Charms of Ishigaki Island

As a popular tourist island, Ishigaki Island has many attractions that cannot be easily described.

Nevertheless, if I had to sum up its appeal in one word, it would be that it is one of the best resort islands in Japan.

The city is a sophisticated urban setting, boasting a cutting-edge mood in everything from cuisine to fashion and entertainment that is as cutting-edge as anything on the mainland.

Yet, Ishigaki Island is unique in that you can enjoy the tranquil atmosphere of a remote Okinawan island when you get away from the city a little.

The islands are blessed with beautiful beaches and seaside scenery, and there are many subtropical plants to be found on the islands.

The wide range of ways to enjoy Ishigaki Island, such as driving around in a rented car or renting a bicycle, is a major attraction unique to Ishigaki Island.

crystal-clear sea

The waters near the Yaeyama Islands, to which Ishigaki Island belongs, are characterized by more coral reefs than those encountered on the main island of Okinawa.

Corals have the unusual characteristic of photosynthesizing in the ocean.

It is not a plant, but a cnidarian, like anemones, jellyfish, etc.

However, corals have plants called zooxanthellae living on their bodies, and these symbiotic zooxanthellae carry out photosynthesis in the sea.

Photosynthesis is the cycling of carbon dioxide and oxygen.

In addition, minerals are discharged, so the more corals there are, the more the water quality is purified and the more beautiful the ocean remains.

This makes the seas of the Yaeyama Islands one of the most beautiful in Okinawa Prefecture.

starry sky

It is not only during the daytime that Ishigaki Island sparkles with charm.

The tropical sun is certainly one of the symbolic elements of Ishigaki Island, but in fact, the night sky of Ishigaki Island is also full of wonderful brilliance.

Being a remote island, Ishigaki Island has clean air with few impurities, which makes the stars at night appear brilliant.

The landscape is not only beautiful because of the brightness of the stars, but also because of the sheer number of stars that can be seen.

In 2018, Ishigaki Island's night sky was certified by an overseas organization as Japan's only starry sky protected area, and is highly regarded internationally.

Night tours and stargazing tours that take visitors around the island at night to look up at the sky are also popular contents.

It is ideal for couples to look up at the night sky in a moody atmosphere, and is also highly recommended to gaze at the stars while deepening your knowledge at the island's observatory.

You will encounter such beauty that you will be immensely impressed just by looking at it with the first glance.

gourmet

And thanks to the urban area, Ishigaki Island has a great variety of gourmet food, which is one of the essential pleasures of travel.

In addition to Okinawan gourmet foods such as chanpuru and rafte, Yaeyama soba, a Yaeyamaized version of Okinawa soba, is also a must-try to compare with Okinawa soba.

The restaurant offers such local cuisine as well as the latest gourmet foods that are Instagram-worthy, as if it were a popular tourist spot, and is guaranteed to satisfy both the palate and the eye.

If you go downtown, you will be happy to find a wide variety of drinking establishments such as izakaya (Japanese style pubs) and bars, where you can enjoy a wide range of drinks from the standard Orion beer to cocktails with a strong local flavor using awamori (Okinawa sake).

If you are planning a rich trip, you may also want to try Ishigaki beef, a local premium brand of beef.

Some restaurants offer Ishigaki beef at a relatively reasonable price because it is a local specialty, so it may be fun to walk around looking for the best restaurants!

Sightseeing spots recommended by locals

We have carefully selected three of the most popular spots on Ishigaki Island that are also highly rated by the locals.

All of them are spots where you can enjoy the beautiful seaside location of Ishigaki Island.

Kabira Bay

First, I would like to introduce Kabira Bay, the most famous sightseeing spot in Ishigaki Island.

Kabira Bay, located in the northwestern part of the island, offers beautiful scenery that seems to be an imaginary tropical paradise turned into reality.

The jewel-like blue and white ocean, sandy beaches, and lush subtropical vegetation will leave you gasping in awe at the fantastic beauty of the place.

Recommendations

Kabira Bay is also famous for being the only place in Okinawa Prefecture to receive a three-star rating in the Michelin Green Guide, a famous travel guide published for tourists from abroad.
The above-mentioned scenery is the reason for its high reputation worldwide, but the most notable of all is the beauty of the sea.

The color of the sea at Kabira Bay is often described as turquoise blue, a unique blue that is slightly different from the blue or emerald green that is often used as a metaphor for the Okinawan sea.

The bay that stretches around the sea is a picturesque location, with a unique beauty that is both fresh and deep.

There is an observation deck and a variety of restaurants and stores where you can eat and store.

Unfortunately, swimming is prohibited at this spot, but activities such as SUP, glass boats, and canoes are available, so you can enjoy the ocean at this scenic spot as much as you like.

Access from the airport/island terminal

It takes less than 40 minutes from Ishigaki Airport to Kabira Bay by rental car.

It is a very famous spot, so you will have no problem finding a route by entering Kabira Bay into your car navigation system.

If you use public transportation, the nearest bus stop is "Kabira Koen-mae".

From there, it is only a two-minute walk, making it an easily accessible spot.

Fusaki Beach

The second beach I would like to introduce is Fusaki Beach, owned by Fusaki Beach Resort Hotel & Villas.

Many hotel-owned beaches usually require non-guests to pay a fee, but at Fusaki Beach, even non-guests are allowed to use the beach free of charge.

Not only is it suitable for swimming and other activities, but you can also enjoy glamping, which has become popular in recent years, in a privileged location.

Recommendations

Fusaki Beach faces Nagura Bay in the western part of Ishigaki Island, and beyond the sea you can see Iriomote Island, the famous Galapagos of the Orient, which is a candidate for the World Natural Heritage site.

The major advantage of Husaki Beach is that it is close to the city center, while being a beautiful place that deserves to be called a scenic spot.

Furthermore, it is a long beach with a long distance between beaches, and even during the summer tourist season, when it tends to be crowded with people, it does not feel cramped.

And thanks to the management by the resort hotel, the entire beach is always clean.

Since many popular beaches can be cluttered, cleanliness is a major advantage.

The beach is also well maintained and safe, with a lifeguard on duty and jellyfish nets installed to prevent jellyfish!

Access from the airport/island terminal

It takes about 30 minutes from the airport to Husaki Beach by rental car.

Searching for the route under the name "Fusaki Beach Resort" will give you a clear route.

In addition, those who stay at Fusaki Beach Resort can use the shuttle bus free of charge, so you should make good use of it.

Public transportation is available by local buses, and the beach is just in front of the bus stop "Fusaki Beach Resort".

Yonehara Beach

The third is also a beach, and I would like to introduce Yonehara Beach in the northern part of Ishigaki Island.

This place is unique in that it is adjacent to the Yonehara Campground, and the beauty of the sandy beach and the ocean, as well as the beautiful nature that only a campground can offer, is a major attraction.

Numerous subtropical plants can also be seen, and the contrast between the blue of the ocean and the green of the plants vividly colors the feeling of a tropical trip.

Recommendations

The ocean at Yonehara Beach is perfect for viewing the coral reefs that characterize Ishigaki Island.

Even in Okinawa's coral-rich environment, there are many cases where it is nice to get into the ocean, but the coral zone is a little too far away.

This would be fine for those who can swim, but those who are not confident about swimming long distances or children who have difficulty managing risks may not be able to see the coral.

In this respect, Yonehara Beach is a good point, with a coral colony immediately after entering the ocean.

Its location is particularly suitable for snorkeling, which can be enjoyed by everyone from expert snorkelers to novice snorkelers!

The only thing to keep in mind is that there are areas where the currents are fast due to rip currents, but as long as you do not move too far from the beach, you should have no problems.

Access from the airport/island terminal

If you are aiming at Yonehara Beach by rental car, it is more beneficial to search for the place name "Yonehara Campground" rather than the name of the beach.

It takes about 40 minutes to arrive and is a good distance to drive to enjoy the scenery of Ishigaki Island.

The nearest bus stop is "Yonehara" and it will take approximately 2 minutes to walk from the bus stop.

What is Mizuna Island like?

水納島わくわくボートシュノーケリング&日帰り海水浴

Now I would like to introduce Mizuna Island, a remote island just off the main island.

As mentioned at the beginning of this article, the distance separating Mizuna Island from the main island of Okinawa is only about 1 km.

The island, with an area of less than 0.5 square kilometers, has a unique shape resembling a crescent moon, and the nickname "Croissant Island" is very distinctive in reference to its shape.

Of course, it is located close to the main island of Okinawa, but it is second to none in terms of the beauty of the ocean and nature that only a remote island can offer!

Directions from Naha Airport and Watakuchi Port

To cross to Mizuna Island, one must travel to Watakuchi Port in Motobu-cho, north of Naha City.

The main means of transportation to Watakuchi Port is by rental car or bus.

If you use a rental car, it takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes on the open road and about 50 minutes on the expressway.

For buses, we recommend taking the Yanbaru Express Bus, which takes about two hours, and you can get off at the "Headquarters Museum Mae" stop, which is about a 10-minute walk away.

From Watakuchi Port, take the high-speed boat to Mizuna Island.

The round-trip fare is 1,730 yen and the estimated travel time is approximately 15 minutes.

Boats to Mizuna Island cannot be booked in advance, so you will want to secure your tickets as soon as possible on a first-come, first-served basis.

Alternatively, we recommend that you take one of the activity tours to Mizuna Island on the main island of Okinawa, which includes the trip to the island.

Why choose Mizuna Island?

水納島わくわくボートシュノーケリング&日帰り海水浴

It should be noted that one of the reasons Mizuna Island is a popular remote island is its compatibility with sightseeing on the main island of Okinawa.

As mentioned above, there are many activity tours that are combined with the trip, and you can choose from a wide variety of time slots and content.

Many of the tours organized on the main island basically meet at the main island of Okinawa, so you do not have to worry about transportation.

Another point not to be missed is the Churaumi Aquarium, the number one tourist attraction on the main island, located near Watakuchi Port.

You can also enjoy a day trip to Mizuna Island and Churaumi Aquarium on the same day.

Attractions of Mizuna Island

Even though the island can be visited together with the main island of Okinawa, of course Mizuna Island itself must be attractive in order to become a popular spot.

From here, we would like to delve deeper into the charms of Mizuna Island, which attracts a wide range of people from beginners to connoisseurs of Okinawa.

Beaches with blue sea and white sand

ビーチ

The first representative point of appeal is the dazzling beach with its lush ocean and sparkling white sands!

The sea of Mizuna Island is also a perfect location with a rich Okinawan flavor, and you will encounter a lot of corals in the sea.

The blue and emerald green sea shows us shades of colors that could be called natural treasures, which no painter could express even with paints.

The beauty of Mizuna Island is that there is not one, but several beaches scattered throughout the island that you should definitely visit.

As expected, the number of spots is inferior to the vast Ishigaki Island, but the small size of the island is an advantage, and the entire island can be easily visited on foot.

The compact size of the island, which makes it easy to walk to any beach, is a major attraction unique to Mizuna Island!

Enjoy marine activities!

ダイビング

Various marine activities are popular due to the beautiful beaches.

Various activities such as snorkeling, diving, SUP, and kayaking/canoeing are held mainly at Mizuna Beach, which is well known as a major beach.

The contents of the museum cannot be played in a single day, and visitors will never be bored.

These tours can be joined locally or by tours from the main island of Okinawa, and the good thing is that you can flexibly make your own plans.

Even if you are too lazy to join a tour, some activities can be rented only for equipment, making it easy to enjoy them as an individual or in a group!

Beautiful cobblestone streets

Another interesting point of Mizuna Island is the road.

Many people will be surprised when they actually see the roads of Mizuna Island.

The road stretching from the harbor to the village of Mizuna Island is covered with beautiful white stone pavement.

The well-maintained and beautiful cobblestone pavement, which is not the kind of path that was set up long ago and left to deteriorate, greets visitors in a stylish mood.

On Mizuna Island, where walking is the basic mode of transportation, the existence of well-maintained, easy-to-walk paths is very welcome.

It is also a perfect photo spot, as it looks great against the tropical sky and subtropical plants along the roadside.

Sightseeing spots recommended by locals

We have highlighted some of the most popular attractions on Mizuna Island that are also highly rated by the locals.

As with Ishigaki Island, we have selected three beaches with different characteristics, so let's check them out in order!

Suina Beach

シュノーケル

The first place that visitors to Mizuna Island always go to is Mizuna Beach, which we will introduce at the beginning of this article.

It is a long beach that wraps around the northern side of the crescent-shaped outer arc of Mizuna Island, and its environment is first-rate in terms of both scenery and playability.

Not only that, but to our surprise, this beach is located right next to Suina Harbor.

Recommendations

Broadly speaking, the evaluation points for beaches include ocean water quality, sand texture, site size, facilities, and safety.

The water quality of Suina Beach is of high quality because it is also inhabited by coral, and the sand is so smooth and very good that you can walk on it with bare feet.

Many Okinawan beaches are beautiful but have coarse sand that makes them difficult to walk on due to the coral sands from coral, but Mizuna Beach is superior in this respect.

The sandy beach is also first class, as it is a long beach.

The tropical location of the long stretch of beach along the shape of the island makes visitors' hearts skip a beat.

Because of its popularity as a resort area, Mizuna Beach is also very well equipped with various facilities.

The facility is equipped with restrooms as well as showers for flushing seawater, lockers for changing clothes, and a store where visitors can rent leisure and activity equipment as well as shop.

In addition, during the summer swimming season, a watchman is perfectly stationed at the beach.

Jellyfish, which are a concern, are also prevented by the installation of nets, so it is safe to say that a complete safety system is in place.

In general, this is a great beach for enjoying ocean fun!

Directions from Mizuna Port

Suina Beach is next to the harbor, so there is no need to get lost.

You should go straight out of the harbor!

Beach below the lighthouse

The second beach we will introduce below the lighthouse is actually a sandy beach that continues with Suina Beach.

Walk all the way to the east, and the area below the Mizuna Island Lighthouse is the beach below the lighthouse.

The reason why it is called by a different nickname is because it has a different charm from that of Suina Beach.

Recommendations

The difference between Suina Beach and the beach below the lighthouse is that it is touristy.

While Suina Beach is fully equipped with an environment suitable for sightseeing as introduced above, the beach below the lighthouse is an extension of the same sandy beach, but in an environment closer to its natural state.

Since there are no facilities such as showers and toilets, it is not as convenient as it could be, and since there are no guards, you need to take care of your own safety.

However, despite these disadvantages, the reason why the beach below the lighthouse is one of the most popular spots is the sense of openness.

Mizuna Beach is also spacious, but as is the fate of popular tourist beaches in Okinawa, crowds are inevitable during the summer and other tourist seasons.

In this respect, the slightly inconvenient environment of the beach below the lighthouse has the opposite effect: it is relatively empty, even though its location, water quality, and sand quality are as good as those of Mizuna Beach.

It is a good environment for swimming and enjoying activities, as long as you take good care of your own safety, of course.

Although inconvenient, the distance from Mizuna Beach is only 600m, so you can easily come and go, and you can use the facilities there as well.

If you want to enjoy a relaxing moment on a tropical beach, you may want to go to the beach below the lighthouse!

Directions from Mizuna Port

There are two ways to get to the beach below the lighthouse from Suina Harbor: by walking along the sandy beach or through the village.

If you are coming from the sandy beach, walk about 600 meters to the east.

If you are going via a village, you simply go out to the village once and follow the road from there to the east side.

Both paths are easy to find and the time required is not much different, so use whichever you prefer.

Seagull Rock Beach

Let me introduce you to one more beach.

While Mizuna Beach was located to the north and the beach under the lighthouse was spread out to the east, the next beach at Seagull Rock is located to the south, on the opposite side of Mizuna Harbor.

Unlike the two beaches above, this beach is not suitable for swimming or playing on the beach, but it is renowned as one of the best snorkeling spots on Mizuna Island, boasting one of the best underwater locations.

Recommendations

Seagull Rock is a large rock visible from the beach, named after the seagulls that often nest there.

With that rock at the head of the list, the beach here is characterized by a rocky landscape.

The beach itself is not so wide, and the scenery is not so bad.

The sand is rough, so walking barefoot may cause a bit of pain.

The Adan trees are not bad for relaxing under the shade of the trees and listening to the sound of the waves, but in terms of location, it may be said that it lags behind the two beaches mentioned above.

However, what makes this beach unique is its underwater scenery.

Looking only at the sea surface, the rocky and rugged landscape tends to seem like a disadvantage, but rocks provide a home for tropical fish that live in the sea.

In combination with the undulating topography of the seafloor, the sea facing Seagull Rock Beach is a favorable habitat for many tropical fish and other creatures.

Dive into the ocean wearing a snorkel and you will surely feel like a member of the ocean filled with such beauty.

When visiting here, be sure to aim for a nice day.

The sight of the sea lit by the sunlight glistening off the surface of the sea is so beautiful that it reminds one of a fairy tale dragon's palace!

Directions from Mizuna Port

Although I mentioned that it is located in the opposite south of Suina Port, the distance is less than 1 km, so you will not feel far away even if you walk.

If you go straight down the south-facing road from the harbor via the village, you will soon reach the beach at Seagull Rock.

Activities on Mizuna Island

Now, when it comes to traveling to Okinawa, marine activities are something that should never be missed.

Of course, Mizuna Island also offers numerous activities centered on Mizuna Beach.

Its varied lineup should be checked before sightseeing.

snorkeling

シュノーケル

If you visit Okinawa, you must dive into its beautiful blue ocean.

If you've made the trip to a remote island, you can't afford not to experience it.

One of the most popular and easy to experience diving activities is snorkeling, which requires only a snorkel, fins, and a wetsuit or rash guard!

Recommendations

Snorkeling involves wearing a snorkel, which consists of a set of underwater glasses and a tube for breathing, so that you can stay in the water without having to raise your face to the sea surface.

It is a very popular activity, and you may have seen it on TV or in magazines.

The clear, beautiful waters of Mizuna Island will impress you even if you just dip your face in for a moment.

Snorkeling allows you to dive slowly without worrying about damaging your eyes with salt water, so you can enjoy the seascape in a more complete state of mind.

The three beaches on Mizuna Island in particular, introduced above, each have a different atmosphere, allowing both beginners and experts to enjoy snorkeling to their heart's content.

For those who are not familiar with the area, there are many activity tours for beginners, and we highly recommend participating in them.

diving

日帰り海水浴&体験ダイビング or パラセ―リング

Like snorkeling, diving is a popular activity to enjoy underwater locations.

This one is equipped with more serious gear and can spend even more time in deep water.

People tend to think that a diving license is absolutely necessary to participate in diving, but in fact, you can participate in diving on Mizuna Island without a license.

Recommendations

In a nutshell, diving is like a more specialized version of snorkeling as a diving activity.

The main feature of this system is that oxygen tanks and regulators are used to assist breathing, allowing the diver to dive into deep water without even needing to breathe through a tube.

The more equipment and the greater the depth, the more you have to learn to ensure safety, which basically means that you are required to obtain a license.

However, there are tours that do not require a license.

If the tour is labeled "experience diving," a qualified instructor will dive with you, allowing you to experience diving without the need for a license.

Experience diving tours are offered at various locations in Okinawa, and of course, Mizuna Island is also a popular environment for experience diving.

This is the best activity for those who would like to try it but have not had the opportunity or do not have enough time to get a license.

SUP

日帰り海水浴&体験コース(クリアカヤックor SUP)

Following the two activities that can be enjoyed in the ocean, SUP (stand-up paddleboarding), which can be enjoyed on the surface of the sea, is not to be missed when talking about Mizuna Island.

SUP is an activity in which people stand on a board, such as a surfboard, and use paddles to paddle and have fun on the surface of the ocean.

SUP is popular in many parts of Okinawa, but the calm waters of Mizuna Island are especially compatible with SUP.

Recommendations

SUP was originally created by surfers as an activity to practice surfing.

Today, many boards are used exclusively for SUP, but when SUP was first invented, it was played exclusively on surfboards.

Many people have the impression that SUP is difficult because of its origins in surfing, but the secret of SUP's popularity is that it is actually a very friendly activity.

The boards currently used for SUP, both surfboards and specialized boards, are large and do not lose their center of gravity in slight waves and winds.

However, the moderate swaying helps to strengthen the torso, and it also provides an exercise effect that you will hear about top athletes incorporating it into their off-duty training.

There are no rules about what you must do, and there are almost no age restrictions, making this a perfect tropical getaway that can be enjoyed with ease.

It's also a great Instagram-worthy activity, so why not make memories of Mizuna Island?

parasailing

パラセーリング

Among the many activities available, parasailing is one that is particularly suited to the environment of Mizuna Island, where visitors can enjoy flying more than 40 meters above the ground, towed by a water bike.

The fun of parasailing is that you can look down from a great height at the beach where you enjoyed swimming and the island filled with beautiful scenery.

It may be a must-do activity for all but those who are not fond of heights.

Recommendations

The 40m height of parasailing is equivalent to the 14th floor of a building.

From a height unmatched by other observatories around the island, you can see all the way to Mizuna Island, the surrounding ocean, and the main island of Okinawa.

The surrounding ocean is so beautiful and clear that you can even see underwater creatures if you look down from the sky.

If you are lucky with the weather, you may even see sea turtles.

Furthermore, Mizuna Island has a very unique island land shape that can be likened to a croissant.

The view from the top allows you to clearly see the shape of the land, so you can enjoy the beauty of the sky, the sea, and the land.

We hope you will be brave enough to participate in parasailing, which can encompass all the beauty of Mizuna Island!

Canoe/Kayak

水納島でカヌーを楽しむ親子

You may have heard about the last activity we will introduce, canoeing and kayaking.

This activity is to enjoy the seascape by paddling at will in a small boat.

This may be the best option for a relaxing view of the waters of Mizuna Island.

Recommendations

The first characteristic of canoes and kayaks is that they are easy to maneuver and physically very level-headed.

The boat itself is highly stable and has good propulsive force, so it moves forward firmly with only a light paddle, and there is basically no wobble or loss of balance.

The key point is that you wear a life jacket when you ride, so you do not even need to be able to swim, even though it is an activity on the ocean.

Because of its low arm strength and physical requirements, it can be enjoyed by anyone, regardless of age or sex.

The ability to accommodate two people is another great attraction of canoes and kayaks, which can be used for a variety of situations, from couples to parents and children.

Sharing the beautiful scenery with your loved ones will create the best memories.
